Central Junior High School
was attended by many students going through the public school system on Absecon Island for 7th and 8th grade from
September 1959 to June 1961.
Although this school had been closed for many years, the decision was made to demolish the building. The building was taken down in early 2006.
For some unknown reason, I think I can recall a song we sang during the final 8th grade assembly. If you remember the words differently, please let me know.
Our hearts are with thee, junior high.
Our love for thee will never die.
Thy building by the sea
Brings back the fondest memory.
Thy corridors are filled with joy,
That echo from each girl and boy.
And will throughout all years abide,
No matter what ills may be tied.
